David Beckham peels off his shirt on London roof in his underwear

Quite a sight: David Beckham shows off his tattoos while filming a new advert in London on Monday

He's come a long way from Leytonstone, but David Beckham went back to his East End roots on Wednesday when he filmed a new ad in London's Brick Lane.
The 38-year-old has been throwing himself into endorsements and ambassadorial roles since hanging up his boots at the end of last season, and this week sees him taking to the rooftops in a grey vest and briefs.
Beckham was of course promoting his new range of underwear for high-street chain H&M, and judging by his balancing act atop the roof of the Old Truman Brewery he appears to have lost none of his athleticism in the months following his retirement from football.

Stripped down: Beckham shows no inhibitions as he strips off for the new advert

At one point the former Manchester United and Real Madrid player tore across the roof with a safety harness clipped to the back of his shirt in what appeared to be a scene very similar to another, Guy Richie directed ad in which he races around a Los Angeles suburb in his undies.
In another he is seen clambering across industrial pipes, a pair of flesh coloured shoes on his feet.
Beckham later peeled off his vest, revealing the numerous tattoos across his chest as well as the distinctive sleeve tattoos across both arms, before triumphantly raising the shirt aloft in what appeared to be a finale or sorts.
