It has been a trend for some time now for women to wear oversized items of clothing which have been dubbed ‘boyfriend coats’ or ‘boyfriend jeans’.
And it seems Katy Perry is a big fan of the style as she stepped out in London on Sunday wearing a large grey coat which looked as if it really could have belonged to her boyfriend John Mayer.
The pop star was spotted making her way to luxury store Liberty looking rather swamped in the outer garment.

The 28-year-old pulled the grey coat featuring a fur trim collar around her so just a glimpse of her dress could be seen beneath.
Making sure she didn’t get chilly she wore a pair of black tights and black ankle boots.
Her hair was pulled off her face in a tight bun and she kept her eyes covered with a pair of shades despite the fact it was turning dark outside.

Katy’s appearance in London came after she gushed about her boyfriend John Mayer in an interview with Billboard magazine.
'He literally is a genius, as is evident from his songwriting,' she claimed.
'I always tell him, "Darling, you know I'm going to have to give your mind to science after you've passed, because we're going to have to understand how all these sparks work,'" she told the magazine in the new issue on news stands September 30.
